Interactive Fiction
Interactive Fiction (also called IF) is a unique literary genre combining elements of a book and a computer game. IF sessions are perfect for book-lovers, video game enthusiasts and thinkers.
If it all sounds new and foreign to you, I understand! The only way to understand what IF is, is to play it. However, you can take a look at the articles linked in this page to get a better idea of what IF is and what we do at the club.
Lantern was the first to introduce Interactive Fiction in India through independent events and collaborations with schools/organizations starting in October 2018. We hope to show more people the fun and power in IF, both as a recreational activity and an educational tool.

Interactive fiction AT SCHOOLS AND ORGANIZATIONS
Interactive Fiction can be adapted to the needs of any group. We have successfully completed pilot runs in educational settings, and have refined the sessions such that students gain a powerful combination of creative and technical thinking, all while maintaining the engaging format that IF allows for.
Classroom resources targeting improved literacy skills and programming knowledge (through reading & writing IF) have been formulated and we are continually creating new resources for different groups and their interests.
We plan to launch long-term workshops with organizations. In addition to exploring IF at an introductory level, long-term engagement would allow participants get into the nitty-gritty of creative writing, world building and coding. If you’d be interested in such a workshop, get in touch with us!
Interactive fiction FOR ADULTS
Interactive Fiction is not limited to school or college students, nor is it limited to avid readers and writers. So we welcome adults to all our public events and we plan to conduct Interactive Fiction sessions exclusively for adults as well. Look out for adult-exclusive IF events on this page!
